Concert Proceeds Donated to the First Aid Squad — September 2026
On September 3, 2026 we presented the proceeds from Rise Up, Sing Out! Concert for the First Amendment — held June 14, 2026 and streamed nationally — to the Montville Township First Aid Squad, the all-volunteer squad that has answered medical emergencies here for more than 60 years and that came close to losing its funding in the spring.
"The Montville Township First Aid Squad is vital for the health of our community," as our spokesperson Neeke Swart put it.

No Kings 3 — 3/28/2026
On 3/28/2026 Montville was one of over 3000 demonstrations across the country to protest the actions of the Trump Administration. Over 200 people gathered to show their love for this country.
A Win for Montville — Policy 7523 Withdrawn (May 2026)
The Montville Township Board of Education withdrew the second reading of proposed Policy 7523 — a sweeping restriction that would have prohibited district signage from acknowledging holidays, civic observances, heritage and recognition months, and PTSA fundraising messages.
In just over a week, 446 Montville residents signed a petition asking the Board to withdraw the policy. On April 28, the Board had advanced it to a second reading on a 5–4 vote despite no member of the public and no district administrator speaking in support. Residents signed, spoke up, and prepared to speak again at the May 12 meeting — and the Board withdrew the second reading before that vote could happen.
The policy could still return in this form or a revised one. If it does, we're building a list of residents willing to attend Board meetings and speak during public comment. Email montvillerising@gmail.com with the subject line "Add me to the speakers list" to join.
